日時：2022年2月上旬 / 天候：晴れ / 雪質：硬め
長野・白樺湖の湖畔に位置する「池の平スノーパーク」。
ホテルの目の前にある、全3コース・リフト2本のコンパクトなスキー場で、最長滑走距離はおよそ500mほど。ゲレンデ全体が緩やかな斜面で構成されており、子供に、初心者にとって安心の設計です。
とはいえ、コースのあちこちに現れる小さな地形の起伏が、滑りにちょっとした遊び心を添えてくれます。誰かと一緒に、のんびりと滑るにはちょうどいい、そんなゲレンデと思いました。
Ikenotaira Snow Park sits on the shore of Lake Shirakaba in Nagano. A compact resort with three courses and two lifts, just steps from the hotel. The longest run is about 500 meters, with mellow slopes that are perfect for kids and beginners. till, small terrain features scattered throughout the course add a playful touch to your ride. It felt like the kind of place where you can take it easy and cruise with someone.
今回は午後からスタート。参加してくれたのは、Knowyのディレクター・佐藤慎二。
We started in the afternoon. Joining me was Shinji Sato, director of Knowy.
スキー場全体がファミリー向けを打ち出しており、「ポタスノーランド」には動く歩道付きのキッズパークや動物広場も広がっています。
The resort is family-focused, with “Pota Snow Land” offering a moving walkway, kids’ park, and even an animal area.

まずは第1リフトでゲレンデトップへ。
We hopped on the first lift to reach the top of the slope.
子どもが喜びそうな演出が施されたスタート地点。スキー場自体も“スノーアスレチック”としての楽しさを押し出して営業しています。
The start zone is decorated in a way kids will love. The resort promotes itself as a “snow athletic park,” and that vibe comes through.
中上級コースでは、スタートから小さな地形の起伏が多数。
On the intermediate course, small terrain features appear right from the start.
コース後半には、このスキー場で最も斜度のある斜面が現れ、そこにも小さな起伏が続きます。
In the second half, the steepest section of the resort shows up—but even there, you’ll find playful bumps along the way.
The intermediate course runs along a ridge, while the detour course drops off to the side like you're sliding down from that ridge.
滑り方によっては、グーフィーバンクのような感覚も楽しめます。
Depending on how you ride, you can even use the terrain like banks and have some fun with it.
初級コースにも、スタート地点から小さな起伏。第1リフトからこのコースに入ると、スピードに乗りながら地形を使った滑りが可能。
Even the beginner course starts with gentle bumps. Taking it from the first lift lets you carry speed and use the terrain for some flowy turns.
後半はかなり緩やかに。第2リフトの乗り場周辺が「ポタスノーランド」のエリアになります。
The second half flattens out significantly. This area near Lift 2 is where Pota Snow Land is located.
第2リフトからは、迂回コースの地形の特徴がよく見渡せます。
From Lift 2, you get a clear view of the detour course and its shape.
池の平スノーパークは、全体的に滑走距離や斜度は控えめですが、コース内にはポコポコとした地形が点在していて、ラインを考えながら滑る練習にはちょうどいい。“ただの緩斜面”では終わらない、意外なおもしろさがありました。
初心者や子どもと一緒でも、自分なりに楽しめる。そんな発見のあるスキー場です。

Ikenotaira isn’t big or steep, but the scattered terrain bumps make it a fun place to practice reading the slope and choosing your line. It’s more than just a mellow hill—there’s some surprise to it. Even if you’re riding with beginners or kids, you’ll still find ways to enjoy it yourself. A small resort with a few good surprises.
