今回訪れたのは、徳島県に唯一存在するリフトが稼働しているスキー場『井川スキー場 腕山（かいなやま）』。四国トリップの一環として、『ゲレンディング』第5作目のムービー「STORIES」の撮影で訪れました。四国では最初に向かったスキー場で、参加ライダーはShinji Sato。
四国にスキー場があるという話は耳にしていましたが、実際に行ってみると、期待以上に興味深く楽しいトリップとなりました。トリップの詳細は「STORIES」で。
Our destination this time was Ikawa Ski Resort Kainayama, the only ski area in Tokushima Prefecture. As part of a Shikoku trip, we visited for the filming of STORIES, the fifth installment of the Gelending movie series. This was the first ski resort we stopped at in Shikoku, with rider Shinji Sato joining us. I had heard of ski resorts in Shikoku, but visiting one in person turned out to be an experience that exceeded expectations—an intriguing and enjoyable trip. 四国のスキー場に行くまでの道のりは、想像以上に刺激的な道のりでした。標高の高い場所にあるので向かう山道は、くねくねと曲がりくねった道が続きます。「本当にスキー場があるの？」と話しながら進む道中、雪が見え始めた瞬間はテンションが一気に上がりました。到着までのドライブも一興です。
The journey to the ski resort in Shikoku was far more thrilling than I had imagined. Located at a high elevation, the approach involves navigating winding mountain roads. As we made our way, questioning, "Is there really a ski resort out here?", the moment we spotted the first traces of snow, our excitement skyrocketed. Even the drive to the destination was an adventure in itself!

As you venture deeper into the mountains, the ski resort's parking lot suddenly comes into view.
スキー場に到着し、どんなゲレンデが待っているのかドキドキ。しかし、残念ながら雪不足のため、4コース中「タクイラコース」と「カイナコース」はクローズ。
Arriving at the ski resort, excitement builds as you wonder what kind of slopes await. Unfortunately, due to a lack of snow, two out of the four courses, the "Takuira Course" and the "Kaina Course," were closed.
それでも、全国でも珍しい「ベルトコンベアを経由して乗るリフト」が迎えてくれました。

Even so, we were greeted by a unique feature rarely seen in Japan: a lift accessed via a conveyor belt.
クローズの「タクイラコース」は広い面と、地形が良さそうなだけに、滑れなかったのは惜しかったです。
The closed "Takuira Course" appeared to have a wide open area and great terrain, making it all the more unfortunate that we couldn’t ride it.
スキー場内では幾つか造雪設備が設置され、積雪不足でも滑走エリアを維持する努力が感じられました。

he ski resort had several snowmaking facilities installed, demonstrating efforts to maintain skiable areas despite the lack of natural snowfall.
The open "Panorama Course" offers a pleasant gradient and a spacious slope to enjoy. Additionally, the snowmaking areas naturally transform into features for hitting, sparking a sense of playfulness.

「ナデシココース」は「カイナコース」との分岐を持つ、ヘアピンカーブのある迂回路的なコース。
The "Nadeshiko Course" serves as a detour-like route with hairpin curves, branching off from the "Kaina Course."

We also had some fun at the snow-covered entrance to the "Kaina Course."

雪不足の状況でも、多くのお客さんが訪れていた『井川スキー場 腕山』。地元に愛され、独自の魅力を持つこのスキー場。機会があれば、再訪してタクイラコースやカイナコースを滑りたいと思います。

Despite the snow shortage, many visitors gathered at Ikawa Ski Resort Kainayama. Loved by the locals and offering its own unique charm, this ski resort leaves a lasting impression.If given the chance, I’d love to return and experience the Takuila Course and Kaina Course.
