今回訪れたのは福井県大野市角野にある『九頭竜スキー場』。ゲレンデは北西斜面に位置しており、雪質の良さが期待できるスキー場。土日祝に動くという第4ペアリフトの情報を得て、1月下旬の降雪後を狙って訪れました。コース構成は中上級者向けが多く、最大斜度41度の「チャレンジコースA」をはじめとした難易度の高いコースもあります。一方で、スキーセンター付近には初心者向けコースもあり、幅広いレベルの滑走者が楽しめるローカルゲレンデでした。
今回のゲレンディングに参加してくれたのは、郡上のローカルライダー"Shinjiro Hayashi"
This time, I visited Kuzuryu Ski Resort, located in Kakuno, Ono City, Fukui Prefecture. The slopes face northwest, making it a ski resort where you can expect excellent snow quality.
I planned my visit after learning that the No. 4 Pair Lift operates on weekends and public holidays. With fresh snowfall in late January, it was the perfect timing to check it out.
The course layout mainly caters to intermediate and advanced riders, featuring challenging runs like the "Challenge Course A," which boasts a maximum slope of 41 degrees. However, beginners can also enjoy the resort, as there are gentler slopes near the ski center. Kuzuryu Ski Resort is a local skiresort that offers something for riders of all levels. Joining us for this session of "Gerending" was Shinjiro Hayashi, a local rider from Gujo.

The sun is still hidden behind the mountains. It’s chilly, and the snow quality looks promising.
まずは土日祝限定で動く第4ペアリフトを利用して、上級者向けの「チャレンジコースA」へ。このコースの上部は尖った尾根地形。ここはボードコントロールが求められるテクニカルなコース。最後は写真のリフト左側の斜面を降りてきます。ここも起伏があって斜度もあるのでスピードコントロールができないと難しい斜面。
First, we took the No. 4 pair lift, which operates only on weekends and holidays, to reach the advanced "Challenge Course A."
The upper section of this course features ridge-like terrain, requiring precise board control to navigate its technical nature. The latter half includes slopes with undulating terrain and steep gradients, making speed control essential for a successful descent.

The course begins with a narrow entry point right at the lift disembarkation area.
左右にネットは無いので気をつけて滑りましょう
There are no protective nets on either side, so be cautious as you ride.
コース最後の急斜面。かなりテクニカルですが、面白いコースでした。
The final steep slope of the course is technical.
第4ペアリフトでアクセスできる圧雪で整備された「パノラマコース」。非圧雪もあり、コース端の起伏を楽しみながら滑走できます。
The "Panorama Course," groomed and accessible via the fourth pair lift, features both groomed and ungroomed sections, allowing you to enjoy the undulating terrain along the edges of the course.
こちらは平日も動いている第３ペアリフト
The third pair lift, which operates even on weekdays.
「チャレンジコースB」へ。このコースも非圧雪が魅力。上部は斜度があり、リフト沿いには起伏のある地形が続いています。今回は荒れていたため、左側に残っていたパウダーを狙って滑走。
To "Challenge Course B," another highlight for its ungroomed snow. The upper section features a steep incline with undulating terrain along the lift line. I aimed for the fresh powder remaining on the left side and enjoyed an exhilarating ride.
コース後半は斜度も緩くなり、気持ち良いい斜面に。
The latter half of the course becomes gentler, offering a smooth and enjoyable ride.
そのまま滑り降りると圧雪のセンターゲレンデに合流。片斜面で面白い。
Continuing down leads to the groomed Center course, which features a tilted terrain, adding an extra layer of fun to the ride.

続いて第3ペアリフトから「ホースラインコース」へ。こちらでは大きな壁が待ち構えており、自然地形を活かした滑りが楽しめます。
From the 3rd Pair Lift, head to the "Horse Line Course," where large walls await, allowing you to enjoy runs that make the most of the natural terrain.
「ダウンヒルコース」は、福井県内で初めて国際スキー連盟公認コースに認定されたコース。この日は週末の大会で滑れずでした。カービングが気持ち良さそう。
The "Downhill Course" is the first slope in Fukui Prefecture to be certified by the International Ski Federation. Unfortunately, it was closed for a weekend competition on this visit.
平日も動いている第１ペアリフト。リフト沿いにはミニクロスパークが設置されており、遊び心をくすぐるコースレイアウト。
The No. 1 Pair Lift operates even on weekdays, offering courses that spark a sense of playfulness.
パノラマコースを降りてくると合流するファミリーコース。平日は第１ペアリフトで滑ることができます。うねりのあるオープンバーン。
The Family Course is an open slope with undulating terrain.
締めメシはゲレンデ近くのファミリー喫茶ウィンディで。
For lunch, I went to Family Café Windy near the ski resort.
『九頭竜スキー場』は平日と土日祝でリフト営業が異なる点に注意が必要ですが、豊かな地形と多彩なコース構成が魅力的。特に降雪後の第4ペアリフトが動く土日祝は、スキー場のポテンシャルを最大限に楽しめると思います。

At "Kuzuryu Ski Resort," it's important to note the difference in lift operations between weekdays and weekends/holidays. The resort boasts diverse terrain and a variety of course layouts. Visiting on a weekend or holiday after snowfall, when the 4th pair lift operates, allowed me to fully enjoy the potential of the ski area.
