今回紹介するのは、長野県南佐久郡に位置する『シャトレーゼスキーバレー野辺山』（旧名：シャトレーゼスキーリゾート八ヶ岳）。お菓子で有名なChateraiseが運営するこのスキー場は、八ヶ岳を望む絶景と晴天率の高さが魅力です。また、スキー場内のレストランやカフェでは、シャトレーゼならではのスイーツも楽しめます。今回は降雪後の午後に訪問し、標高が高いため良好な雪質を期待して滑り始めました。
参加してくれたのは、長野エリアを拠点に活動するローカルライダーのManabu Koike
Today’s feature is Chateraise Ski Valley Nobeyama, located in Minamisaku District, Nagano Prefecture (formerly known as Chateraise Ski Resort Yatsugatake). Operated by the well-known confectionery brand Chateraise, this ski resort boasts stunning views of the Yatsugatake Mountains and a high rate of sunny days. Visitors can also enjoy Chateraise’s signature sweets at the on-site restaurant and café. I visited on an afternoon after fresh snowfall, looking forward to the excellent inland snow quality expected at this high-altitude location. Joining us this time was Manabu Koike, a local rider based in the Nagano area.
スキーセンターからゲレンデへ
From the ski center, you head toward the slopes.
いきなりシャトレーゼのカフェ。滑走後に食べて帰りたい。
Right away, you’ll spot the Chateraise café.
学生が多く訪れており予想外の展開だが、これから徐々に授業も終わりを迎える時間になるためスキー場内は空いてくる予感。
Many students were visiting as part of their school classes, which was an unexpected sight. However, as the school sessions were nearing their end for the day, it seemed likely that the slopes would gradually become less crowded.
最初に乗ったのはホーンリフト。このゲレンデの圧雪コースで一番の急斜面「ホーンコース」へ向かう。
The first lift we took was the Horn Lift, heading to the steepest groomed slope in the resort, the "Horn Course."
コース上部に壁あります。
There was a wall terrain at the upper part of the course.
滑り出しは、このゲレンデ１番の圧雪急斜面。
Starting off, the steepest groomed slope on this resort.
コース後半は斜度が緩やかに。
The slope becomes gentler in the second half of the course.
バレーリフトに乗って「バレーコース」へ。
I took the Valley Lift and headed to the Valley Course.
リフトに乗って初めて急斜面の「アルペンコース」の存在に気づき、期待が高まる。
I noticed the steep "Alpine Course" for the first time as I got on the lift, and my excitement grew.
まずは急斜面に向かうため、「バレー３」を滑ります。
To head towards the steep slope, I rode down the "Valley 3."
緩やかでも地形で遊べます。
後半には壁のような地形が登場するので、スピードを乗せて滑り込むのがポイントです。
Towards the end, a wall feature appears, so it's key to pick up speed and ride into it.
コースの終点に急斜面の「アルペンコース」へ向かうリフト乗り場が出てきます。
At the end of the course, you'll find the lift station that leads to the steep "Alpen Course."
「アルペンコース」は沢地形の非圧雪エリア。ただし斜面は南西向き。午後滑り出しの今回は雪が重そう
The "Alpen Course" is an off-piste area with a ravine terrain. However, the slope faces southwest, so with the afternoon conditions, the snow seemed to be quite wet.
「アルペンコース」の木の影がある場所が雪がまだ良さそうとスタート
I started in the areas with tree shadows, as they seemed to have better snow conditions.
レギュラーの日当たり面はほぼ南向き。やはり雪がペタペタでした。
The sun-facing areas are mostly south-facing, and as expected, the snow conditions were not very good.
コース後半は圧雪面になります。
The latter half of the course becomes groomed slopes.
次に滑った「バレー2」は、木陰になっている場所が多くまだまだ雪が生きてました。滑り心地も良好。
The next course, "Valley 2," had many shaded areas where the snow was still in good condition, and the ride felt good.
最後に向かったのは「バレー1」。
Finally, I headed to "Valley 1."
ここにはスノーパークが設置され、端には人口のモコモコした地形が続いていました。
A snow park was set up here, and along the edges of the middle section of the course, there was bumpy terrain.
最後は緩やかなオープンバーン。
Finally, the course leads to a gentle open slope.
The day ends with dessert time at the Chateraise café!
『シャトレーゼスキーバレー野辺山』は、緩斜面が多く初中級者向けのコースが中心ですが、中級者向けの圧雪急斜面ホーンコースや、上級者向けアルペンコースの沢地形の非圧雪もあり、良い雪のタイミングに訪れればチャレンジングな滑走もできます。また、スキー後のスイーツもシャトレーゼならでは。今回は午後からの滑走だったため、次訪れるならベストコンディションのアルペンコースを狙ってみたいと思います。

"Chateraise Ski Valley Nobeyama" offers mostly gentle slopes, making it ideal for beginner and intermediate skiers, with the Horn Course serving as a groomed, steep option for intermediate riders. For advanced skiers, the Alpen Course provides off-piste terrain with creek-like features, offering a more challenging experience when snow conditions are right. Additionally, Chateraise’s unique sweets after skiing add to the resort's charm. Since I skied in the afternoon this time, I plan to target the Alpen Course in its best condition on my next visit.
